When targeting keywords on your organic and PPC campaigns, one important parameter to research is the amount of traffic. Competition, Conversion Rate (CT) and other keyword parameters are also important, but we can deal with those in another post.
You might think that new trending English keywords would have a bigger effect in the USA than the rest of the world. However, when we have a keyword that is more international and is roughly said the same way in foreign languages, this is not always true.
Digital marketing has a little broader of a meaning than internet marketing, but is used almost interchangeably.
In the graph below, you can see that in the USA the use of digital marketing started to eclipse internet marketing in May 2013
However, you can see in the graph below, that worldwide, digital marketing started to be searched on more that internet marketing much earlier: August 2012. This is almost a year earlier than the USA.
Israel is a small country and English is only a second language. You can still see that digital marketing out searched internet marketing in October 2012, more than half a year earlier than the USA.
Your Internet marketing strategy needs to take this into account. For example, if you have a USA campaign and a ROW campaign, the ROW campaign should be adjusted months before the USA campaign assuming other parameters such as CR and competition are not significantly different.
