Re-branding Strategy —

Why We Changed Our Internet Marketing Name

November 4, 2018

HAIFA — Established companies must always be open to change or risk getting left behind. On the other hand, re-branding carries its own risks. You can lose the reputation and goodwill you’ve worked so hard to create.

Back in the dawn of the internet, online directories would list companies in alphabetical order, just as the Yellow Pages had done.

That’s why you had companies called Aardvark – so they could be first.

Truth be told, that’s one of the reasons we chose the name: AIMS – Advanced Internet Marketing Strategies.

We’re proud of the fact that we’ve prospered in this very competitive space for over 2 decades, while continuing to come up with innovative solutions for our clients.

In the graph below, Google Trends shows how the term “internet marketing” has become eclipsed by “digital marketing”

It’s clear that our old name was not doing justice to all the hard-working, innovative digital marketers in our company.

We didn’t want to lose the reputation AIMS has so we kept AIMS and replaced Advanced Internet Marketing Strategies with Digital.

We’ll use a byline to explain that our focus is on International Digital Marketing.

AIMS CEO, Ron Spinner summed up our the purpose of the change: “Our new name — AIMS Digital— will always remind us to create innovative, successful Digital Marketing Solutions for our clients”.
